We start with a 30 minute conversation and a 5 minute sketch.
How to get this fanciful image to capture the spirit of her dedicated professionalism and unique, joyful soul--that was our first challenge. As I was already booked, Dr. Ritamarie got things rolling by having her friend paint a watercolor sketch(shown left below) and sent that to me. I began painting in Photoshop over it , morphed it's head and tail to her liking, and celebrated only when she gasped at the sight of it-- my indicator of a truthful completion and a job well done. The pictures below show the journey.
I gave this font, leaf, & apostrophe a watercolor hue and texture.
